Dobbies Garden Centres

Dobbies Garden Centres needed a supplier that could deal with the demand and supply of uniforms to their outlets all over the UK.

Dobbies Garden Centres are currently in eighteen locations primarily in the North and Scotland. They had a range of garments that were being purchased from their previous supplier. The company were disillusioned as there was no real stock control and the workload on the person responsible was far in excess of the time available. 
 
The brief for this client was to eliminate the problems, develop a broad and co-ordinated range of items to stop managers ordering frequently used workwear and safety footwear items from multiple suppliers. 

In addition to presenting a new range of garments, we also made recommendations as to how we could improve product quality, improve service efficiencies and enhance the branding. As a result Beaver were awarded the contract.

Order forms were developed and each location manager became responsible for placing their orders direct to Beaver either by email or fax. Orders were dispatched direct to the ordering location with monthly reports sent to Dobbies Head Office together with any re-ordering requirements. To minimise wastage across Dobbies sites, existing stocks were sent to Beaver and each item was inspected for quality and consistent look and where possible, re-branded, bagged, coded, warehoused or dispatched.

As part of an agreed reporting process, Dobbies informed Beaver of any large increases of employees due to new locations being opened or existing locations being enlarged. This way stock levels were adjusted accordingly. Lead times for each item were also taken into consideration and communicated well in advance since some custom-made items were manufactured from our offshore facilities.

The total cost savings in using Beaver International as an exclusive supplier was realised through both the competetive pricing of products and service efficiencies achieved.

  
 
Just Car Clinics

Just Car Clinics operate from 23 motor vehicle accident repair centres in Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. 

The composition of the JCC workforce is mainly reception and workshop staff. The brief was to create a custom-made co-ordinated range of garments for all such staff whilst utilising JCC's distinctive branding colours.

The range covered 'His and Hers' suits, shirts, blouses, ties and workwear including polo shirts, sweatshirts, fleeces, work trousers, waterproof coats and high visibility jackets.

From conception to roll-out, the whole process took just sixteen weeks – this included providing visuals. Fabric ideas sampling and gathering of all employees’ individual orders also formed part of the service we offered.
